Hamleys is a London / British institution and as so is a must visit for tourists. However now that we have a child we see it differently. When we visited the toilets upstairs (only one set of toilets on 5 floors!) there were used nappies, sanitary towels all over the floor and the smell in the baby changing room was so overpowering it made me want to be sick. I ended up changing my little girl on the floor space outside the toilets. There was an attendant in there but she only seemed to be filling up the soap dispensers and didn't seem to care. There is a small cafe up there with a good selection of milkshakes and sweets and stuff but very expensive. I would recommend a fleeting visit at off peak season (not Xmas or weekends) and it would probably be fine, otherwise enjoy the chaos!

Another must visit if you're in London with the kids. We always love to visit Hamleys and looking forward to coming again in a fortnight (early xmas shopping!)
