Horniman's is a lovely, free museum. The new aquarium has recently opened as is brilliant. There are explorer vests that the kids can wear as they go round, with things to do attached to them.
The music room is also a favourite, Molly loves to play the instruments and make as much noise as possible!!
The cafe has a huge choice, and the food is quite tasty.
They often have activities for the kids to do, but they are generally ticketed (although free), and in demand.

The Horniman Museum is a free museum contain various exhibits to interest children and adults alike. The museum has a choice of stairs or lifts for those with buggies/prams. I took my 7 year old and she loved the natural history gallery full of stuffed animals, skeletons etc, there are also activity areas at certain times of the day where kids can make stuff.
The toilets are clean and well signposted and there is a cafe, or you can take along a packed lunch. The museum also has some landscaped grounds (some areas not pram friendly, and you can walk along and see the goats, chickens etc in the yard.
The staff on hand were happy to help mums with opening doors etc and although there is no specific play area for kids as a free day out you can fill at least an hour and a half walking round inside and weather permitting have a nice picnic outside afterwards.
The museum has a website which gives you times that activities are run www.horniman.ac.uk
