We visited this yesterday and I must say it is a little over priced. There should be a reduced rate for adults as there is not much for them to do other than supervise the children. The leaflet makes a big splash about the new Alien indoor area for 2011 but it is not built yet and we are almost at the end of 2011. Staff look bored, the eating areas are clean but in the Pharohs play are there is a chair ride we saw a number children fall over the electric wire cover and hurt themselves but the attendant never warned or supervised the children when he let them on. Not all attractions are included in the price and if you went on those as well you would need a further £10 on top. There are plenty of play areas but in my opinion you could go to local pary for much cheaper. Some of the park needs an update and some of the attractions are in need of repair and a lick of paint. Saying that my children loved it and we spent the whole day there to get our monies worth. We will not make another visit and my son who is 6 now will be too tall for most the rides so will not be worth while. In short needs a revamp and the staff need to go on a customer care course, it could be made much better if not it will go the same way as the American Adventure.

Had a fantastic time today with my husband and 2 kids, lovely staff, very friendly. Not a massive menu choice in the cafes but the kids were happy and they were clean too I'm happy to say! The kids didn't want to leave at closing time so we are going to back really soon.

i visited wheelgate park recently with my daughter and her friend. The staff on the gate were very friendly and informative. the girls loved the butterfly farm, and enjoyed spotting the different species. the train was wonderful, and we got a peek at the new farm which is being built at the top of the park. the building looked very large, and we are exited to see the animals moving in this saturday!

We visited Wheelgate park on Saturday 19th June. The place was very dirty, the bird mess on the childrens trampolines was disgusting. The cafe was very dirty with chemicals being stored with food items. The cafe member of staff sprayed cleaner in my little boys face when cleaning my table. The staff were less than helpfull. The girl on the childrens slide was too busy texting on her mobile phone instead of supervising the ride. The whole place was dirty and run down. The lighting in the indoor play area was very poor and un safe. We decided to leave and on the way out i complained, the girl told me to fill in a form. She was on the phone to the manager telling her why i was unhappy. After she came off the phone she told me the manager would be in touch. I asked why she was not coming to see me. She said that people are complaining all the time about the same things so they would be in and out all the time. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE.

Firstly I have to say it is called Wheelgate Park and hasn't been wonderland since 2007!That said the park and newly added facilities and rides are brilliant, well worth the money and we have visited more than once since the takeover and previous to that too. With still work going on there the new owners are clearly spending some money and the tropical house has vastly improved with the staff knowledge informative and with excellent attitude and enthusiasm too. Our two children were treated really well and they loved the hands on approach shown by the staff handling snakes, lizards and even a tarantula! The children also loved the falconry display and new animals on the park, and had a whale of a time on the assault course leaving us exhausted and in need of a cuppa. We were able to take a picnic even though there is more than one cafe there, and just chill out while the kids used up more energy in the mining village area. We will definately be visiting again.

Went there with my 2 boys on Friday. Overpriced, toilets disgusting and disinterested staff on go carts. Really hope the take over sorts this place out. Good point was new assault course -great - really well made and fun. Can't beat Sundown!

Visited June 2008 and had a fantastic day with my 2 children aged almost 5 and 3. Obviously still in process of lots of new additions being added but found it to be clean with friendly staff. Great new rides, no queues, ideal for young children - lots for them to do. Will definately go again. Tropical house had ants, butterflies, hatching pupae, fish, ducks, lizards and a snake. Also saw a pig, goats and a pony. Children loved for new large wooden fort. Would recommend it and we will definately visit again. Yes, you can see that there are still lots of things needed a lick of paint etc but that didn't bother us.

Dont Bother! Visited Wonderland in March 2008 - had been told that it was undergoing a re-vamp & that some areas would be in-accessable i.e. new rides. The majority of it is inaccesible, pets corner consists of a pony, tropical house had a snake a spider some fish & 2 turtles, the whole park looks like a deserted town its not surprising it has been sold off but to charge £7.75 per person because it is owened by the same people as twin lakes now does not make it good - it should be half that price until it has been re-vamped. Dirty toilets, ignorant staff that is of course the ones that you see, building sites unsecure, not fun at all

Wonderland Pleasure Park lives up to its name. Well, partly it does anyway. We visited with Lucy (aged 2) in July 2005. The Park is a large area with a butterfly house, a model railway that didn't seem to work, several rides (some which cost extra in the form of tokens), some animals and a large indoor play area, including a dedicated toddler area. There is even a large old wooden trawler which can be used for play. So far, so good. However, much of the area had depressing labels on: "Keep off!" "Do not pass line!", there was a rusty old fire engine labelled as being a heritage machine and so "Do not touch", only in bold, and underlined for good measure. Why bring these things to a children's play area and put signs like that up? At the cafe there was a sign saying "no picnics - tables for patrons only", which I suppose is fine, but surely if you've paid £7 a head to get in you could sit at a table for your sandwiches? Several of the rides and displays could have done with a lick of paint and most of the display cases for animals such as snakes and stick insects in the butterfly house were empty. The toddler play area was good. Food was OK, but the cafe we visited was of very limited choice. It did have a picture of Rod Hull on the wall though, and that covers a multitude of sins.
As a summary: your kids will love it, you might well feel that it's overpriced and in need of a bit of a revamp. Baby changing was good, and there were low-level toilets for small children.
