Reviews and details of facilities:

Each Sunday we serve our carvery menu. We make sure that all our customers are aware that the carvery menu is being served and not the usual daytime menu with huge signs outside the restaurant. We also greet each customer
before they enter to ensure that they are aware that we are serving our carvery menu, we also remove all the daytime menus from display.

We offer childrens portions at the carvery.

Whilst serving our carvery menu we are unable to prepare the ingredients and equipment used to cook items featured on the daytime menu.

Whilst I am sorry to hear that the reviewer below felt disappointed that they could not choose from the usual daytime menu, I am confident that we make every effort to inform customers as to what we are offering. Because we
offer childrens portions of the carvery and also vegetarian options on our carvery menu, we are particularly popular with families on a Sunday. Should the reviewer require a fresh and healthy Sunday lunch in future, we'd be delighted
see him and and his family again.

Disappointing, we went today and wanted to have food from the child's menu but were told we couldn't on a Sunday as they only do carvery and not any of the stuff on the kid's menu so we left and ate at Wetherspoon's instead. Seems a little short sighted to me, how much effort would it have been to do something off that menu for our toddler?

Their website with menu can be found here http://www.thecarvery.net

The owners of the carvery do have 2 young children. They are very breastfeeding friendly and family friendly.

Thumbs up.

I've got two children and always go here if taking them out. Nice wide doors to enter with no steps. Because the restaurant is quite large there is plenty of space for pushchairs and you never feel cramped.
The staff offer to take your pushchair away for you and park it in an another area of the restaurant out of the way.
They always offer the children colouring sheets and crayons which keeps them occupied until the food arrives.
They have a huge childs menu. They have the usual fish fingers etc but also lots of healthy options like kids roast dinners, cottage pie, pasta etc and sugar free drinks. They are more than willing to heat food if you ask.
There is a baby changer in the ladies (sexist I think!).
There is a poster on the front door which says that breastfeeding mothers are welcomed - I don't know anywhere else that does this.
The staff are usually very good and I'm pretty sure that the owners have young children themselves because they seem to have thought about how best to accomodate youngsters.
I think the restaurant is non-smoking at night but they do allow smoking in the furthest section during the daytime.
My one tiny complaint would be that sometimes it does get quite warm in there, especially if the sun is shining straight through the large glass windows - but it's only a minor complaint.
All in all they really care about making it easy to bring children and I seldom go anywhere else in Aberystwyth if I have the children.
