The model village makes a great day out for young children and adults. I took my children 2 or 3 times when they were young and have now taken my grandchildren twice. Their wonder at the models was not diminished by a second visit, it just gave the opportunity to take in a lot more of the clever layout.
The refreshment area is good, not over-priced and accommodates picnicers as well. The adults can have a rest while the children play safely in the play area and the train ride rounds off the visit very nicely. A brilliant place and excellent value.

An absolute must place to visit for parents and grandparents alike.
This was one of my favourite places to visit as a child, so of course my children got to experience the joy as well. I'm now fortunate enough to have the excuse of bringing the grandchildren and seeing the wonder in their eyes as they become 'giants' for the day in this magical small world.
Between my children and granchildren I have also had the pleasure of visiting with many Beaver and Cub Scout groups from all over Buckinghamshire.
The grounds and models are so well cared for, the atmosphere of the place is very child friendly from the pathways, to the snack bar and the safety conscious play area. The small train rides. The souveniour shop has a good selection and is not overpriced. Free parking is opposite the village. Everything you need for a great day out. Even wet weather cover for your picnic lunch.
So next time you're wondering where to go with the ALL the family, without needing to take out a bank loan - make it Bekonscot - you won't be disappointed.

How have you not discovered this place? Truly one of the secret places for families with tots in the UK! The place is a gem. Little villages, model trains rushing around, bonsai, playground, ride-on train at weekends, cheap cafe, cheap souvenir shop (but great quality)... we go about 3 times a year. My boys can't get enough. There are also great changing facilities, plus microwave for you to heat your child's milk.

This place is absolutely the top!! we like it for several reasons. Firstly, the model village itself is so pretty and well maintained and interesting, a really enchanting miniature world with some period bits and modern bits - it's very much alive and changing and a lot of care is kept to keep it looking nice with pretty plants and landscaping, a very extensive model railway system, delightful water features, etc. But also the prices are reasonable, you're not overcharged for food and souvenirs (the shop incidentally is in a lovely old railway carriage which is an attraction in itself) and you get the feeling, really quite rare these days, that this village is run to give families a good day out rather than grab as much money as possible from visitors. I believe that it is partly run for charity and so by going there you are also contributing to a good cause, but even if you don't care about that kind of thing you and your children are likely to thoroughly enjoy the tiny shops full of quaint items the little coal mining community, the tiny fairground, etc. There are also climbing frames and play areas and a little sit-on train which gives rides to very young children, plus a picnic area and cafe where you can get reasonable snacks as well as bring your own food, they don't mind you mixing the two because the place is really child friendly and they understand what children are like.

A lovely place to go and explore with little ones.
There are six little villages in a 1½ acre miniature landscape of farms and fields, castles and churches, woods, lakes and rolling hills.
Refreshment kiosk serving hot and cold snacks. Two picnic areas. there is a play ground near picnic areas.
Free car parking is available opposite Bekonscot entrance in Warwick Road, Pay & Display in Beaconsfield.
