We visited the playground that is right next to the car park which is at the end of Park Avenue, at the top of Eastville Park. It's a really nice playground which is only let down by all the graffitti. There's a large sandy area - like a giant sand pit, with wooden edges that you can sit on. In the sandy area are the usual playground equipment, with slides, rocking bikes, a see-saw etc. The sand is great to avoid too many "poor-poors" and is also great fun in itself for digging/building in. Next time we go, we'll bring buckets & spades!
There's also swings on a separate area (with rubber matting underneath) - some are for older children and some are the "baby swings". There's a huge slide on a big "mountain" made of logs which my son (aged 5 1/2 at the time) loved.
There's also grassy areas, and large trees for shade. The car park isn't huge, but there are side roads nearby where you might be able to park.
I think that you can walk down from this area into the rest of the park, but we haven't tried that. Maybe on our next visit.
