My family and i visited the tales of robin hood a few weeks ago and really felt like we had been cheated out of our money. There is a cable ride which takes you through the history of robin hood and the area which would have been great if we could hear the commentry. As a day out it is informative but when you pay nearly ten pounds to visit somewhere you maybe expect a bit more interaction but Robin Hood spent most of his time flirting with the waitresses so maybe not so great for kids.

Great place for family fun and for older children (not really suitable for under toddlers as some stuff could scare them. They have detective trails to do along your way. There are plenty of activites such as brass rubbings, a ride, falconry displays. They also run courses to learn how to do archery etc at certain times.
Well recommended if you are in the area and want to learn more about the history.
