In response to Shelly. I am sorry you found visiting animal world disappointing, please understand this facility has sadly been near closure due to council funding cuts. Our community volunteer group is hoping to regenerate this much loved local facility, with the councils support, but it will take time. It has been necessary to introduce a small charge but all gate money goes to the upkeep and re establishment of this educational resource, please watch out for the re opening of the butterfly facility. Please help with volunteering if you can. Come and talk to 'animal world conservation action group' at Moss Bank Park Kite Festival on 26th June. Or e mail AWCAG@hotmail.co.uk

we visited today, very dissapponted. butterfly world has been shut down. the only animals in the run down zoo were chipmunks peacocks chickens ducks a few other birds a few rabbits and guinea pigs and we spotted 2 baby deer through a fence but not sure if they were part of animal world. 50p to get in and see the birds & little furry animals. hmm.

Lots of friendly animals, such as monkeys, farmyard animals, exotic birds, reptiles and an impressive butterfly house.
Other attractions at Animal World and Butterfly House include a popular playground area for children, a café, a small golf course and football fields.
Recommended.
