i must comment on reading some of these reviews as to the comments of staff not supervising the children im sorry but do some of you regularly take your children out and leave them to their own devices surely as parents this is your responsibility and not the staffs i have no problem with the place as i watch my child play and enjoy

i would like to say the previous 3 visits to world of play have all been fantastic.
i was truly happy with the service i recieved from the staff they have been great with my little girl and chatting to her, she now looks forward to seeing the girls on reception as much as going to play.
i do find it gets busy sometimes and hard to get a table but i have noticed the staff take a trolley around to try and minimise the mess and ive never waited more than 5 minutes to be seated.
the play area is clean and ella loves the slides and as for the ball pond i cant get her out.
ella had a sausage and chips free of charge and i had a pannini the food was presentable and tasted great especially as of the price
the coffee wasnt great but the hot chocolate was out of this world:)
i think they would benefit from having some sort of loyalty card? or a discount for groups? just something to have a think about.
but for now give yourselfs a pat on the back.

I go over World of Play on a regular basis and my daughter had a Little Miss Beauty party in May 2011. I could not fault the party, the staff were friendly, happy and smiled throughout, my daughter and her friends had a great time, the food was fine and they loved the chocolate fountain. The staff are always polite, chatty and friendly to both children and parents. Yes, we have been over there when older children are running riot and causing problems (stopping younger children going down the slides etc), but i don't think it's fair to blame the staff as i wouldn't like to approach some of the people we have seen over there - however, if there is a problem the staff will approach the parents or speak directly to the children. The whole place is a lot cleaner, brighter and fresher than a while back.

I'm only 12. This place is ok but some of the things are taped down. As far as I remember the staff are usually kind and everything is clean. There isn't much supervision there but I do not know if this has changed since I last went there which was a long time ago. I used to love the character parties but the food wasn't and still isn't great. As someone said, there are older kids running around this place like banshee's, and what with little un's too I think parents should keep an eye out. Its an alright place.

I promised to report back after my sons party. His 5th Birthday party 19th Dec 2010. Well what can I say. The staff made his birthday so special. The snow didnt stop them. Nothing was too much trouble and they completely took the stress out of organising the party. Exceptional value for money. Plenty of food and choice. We were not rushed. The games they played were fantastic. The character we chose was Scooby Doo. My son was totally excited to meet him. Well done World of Play ...we will definately be back next year. I would recommend this venue to anyone with a 5th Birthday planned. It was ideal. Our party had ages from 2-9 there and everyone enjoyed themselves. Well Done! x

Love the make over in World of Play, it has really made a difference. Food is great and the play area is great value for money. I am thinking of having my son's 5th Birthday there this year. The staff have always been friendly and helpful on past visits. Hope its not too late to book! Will report after the party.

My child and I went to World of Play for a birthday party. The staff are lovely and friendly, facilties nice. The staff working the party had great energy and Ben 10 was great. The place is smaller than Playzone but bigger than Toots. A great size to feel that your 6 yr old can go and play and you can keep an eye on them from the sitting area.

World of play is a wonderfull place for children, the staff are lovley and its a safe and inviting play area. I take my son everyweek, we have food there too which is lovley! for just £5,your child can have a hair cut upstairs in the childrens hairdressers, for that price you also get a goody bad and a free play! for an extra pound your child can have a meal too!for my sons 2nd birthday party, i hired the place out and it was well worth the money! it has recently been refurbished again (Aug 10) and its now even better! please dont judge this place before taking your children!

I use to work here before the new owners took over and it was a good place to wrok then and then the new owners took over and it was the same. and i never recall me washing used straws one bit. if you wanna go to playzone or wackys go, they wont stop you, just dont slag the place off cause Louise has worked hard doing the place up :) and the toilets are spotless, i cleaned them lol

I have been reading some of the comment's on here and some of which ive read are DISCUTING, obviously word of mouth from a compitition :/ , i am a regular at world of play and for all the years i have been taking my three children there i have NEVER had any problems what so ever , they never wash their straws as i have always been offered to help my self from a newly opened pack of them and when i notice them cleaning they always throw the used straws and slush puppie containers IN THE BIN, The staff are always polite and helpful even when really busy. My three children always have such an amazing time there it's cheap and well worth the money. id'e advide it to anyone :)

That last post is rubbish. I've been many times to world of play and always found the staff to be full of fun and helpful. It's clean and bright with a good selection of food. Maybe it's not from a genuine customer but a rival!

i have always loved world of play and my children have had loads of paries there which were fab but i did pay extra for my daughters high school musical party and was a lil disappointed in what the staff did with the kids, i think they should have played more games but otherwise i love it ther and ive vooked a party for my son too xxx

I've visited World of Play several times and always enjoyed it there. My kids have always had a great time. The staff are friendly and the food is good. Facilities are clean and all areas bright. I've booked a party there for my son and my friends who have booked there before have said their kids absolutely loved the parties. Absolutely recommended.

I have only been here once, and I will not be returning! 3 words: dirty....dingy....dismal! Normally we go to Playzone but they were maxed out last Saturday so thought I would take my 3 kids to World of Play...NEVER AGAIN! Yes it may be cheaper, but i would rather spend the extra couple of quid in Playzone anyday!

I have been to world of play many times and it is wicked I love the slides and the small competions they do. I also love the trampolines they are awsome. I have been to loads of little miss beauty parties and I loved them. Its really fun and the staff are really child friendly. The good thing is they have something for children of all ages

My mum took me to world of play and i loved it i have been there plenty of times and my brother is going to have his birthday party there
i have been reading some of these reviews and some of them are total rubbish this is what i think: i think that world of play is a safe place for kids to have a bit of fun i have been to lots of partys there AND I LOVE THEM in some of these reviews and they are saying that the staff dont watch the kids but i think that thats the parents
job the food is great the staff are kind
world of play is great and the staffs attitude is fine and its child friendly
by the looks oof things world of play is the place to be!

I have a funny feeling people are slagging Wacky's off in favour of World of Play because of a mis placed jealousy. Leather Sofa's - now where would you have got that idea from with matching coffee tables - Wacky's had them from when they opened. I have been going there since it opened and I think the staff are very well trained and polite. The actually play games with the kids on the slides if it's not too packed out. They do arts and crafts after school as well. At the end of the day there are enough kids around to fill thr three play places so lets cut out the rubbish being said about Wacky's. It's only been open about 9 months give it a chance.

Amazing!Really clean and toilets always sparkling. My children thouroughly enjoyed themselves. So much variety for them. Since new owners, have taken over the place has improved so much! Excellent food and really cheap! Brill offers too! Staff our really friendly and great with children, i recently visited wackys with my son and daughter, and was shocked and disappointed with rudeness of staff. World of play is now my regular tuesday evening outting! Really want to try out one of their parties!

dirty and smelly and since new owners taken over it has become run down. my son is only 4 and boys about the age of 12 were running like animals with noone monitoring the situation. i appreciate it is not supervised but surely it is dangerous to allow this. i too saw staff washing staws. i have visited wackys which is great sorry world of play but i will not return

I take my Grandsons there regularly and they thoroughly enjoy themselves! I have read some of the comments left on this page and I cannot understand how anyone in their right mind can make a claim that they have seen staff wash "STRAWS"! There must be an underlying reason for such a preposterous claim! And to
Hayley who complains about the Child supervision..there is a sign advising Parents that Children's supervision is the responsibility
of the accompanying adult! For the entrance price and food prices,the Play area and last but not least the "Very Friendly Staff" I would recommend the World of Play to anyone! And to those who make ridiculous claims I hope you realise that sensible people can read between the lines!

In reply to the last post, let me say that we buy boxes of 500 straws for less than 2 pounds. It's ridiculous to think that we would wash plastic straws to use again! What utter rubbish. All our catering staff are trained on food hygiene and safety and would not do such a thing.
As far as the sofas are concerned, they are brand new leather sofas, purchased for the use of our customers and are temporarily stored at the rear of the building. We are awaiting delivery of matching coffee tables to go with them before putting them out.
Maybe Rosemarie has a grudge to bear against us, I don't know? We have many hundreds of regular, satisfied customers.

I was shocked at the place it was flithy with sofas stored in plastic covers stacked up in the toddler area! with a bouncy castle with the genorater exposed and sharp plastic tags on the poles i shall not be going there again the only staff i saw was ones collecting plates it is disgraceful! when i went to order food the girls were washing used drinking straws to use again!

my son loved it but i did find the supervision by staff was'nt up to scratch and my friends boy was found with a small piece of metal in his mouth when it was mentioned there was not even an apology which i was disgusted by but on a good point it is great for kids as long as you watch them yourself.

I found this a great place to be! Since its been up new management it has improved by miles! There is a much larger food menu, which has something to suit anyone. My kids throughly enjoyed being here, the new toddler area is great, with staff checking every now and again to ensure theres no older children, and to ensure the safety of the children. My daughter also had her 'Little Miss Popstar' party here and she enjoyed profoundly! The staff were very friendly, and easy to talk to, there is plenty of them so they're easy to find. The party bags from the party are very professional and the dvd is a great keepsake. There are always things going on, I and my kids went to the pirates party, which was packed with games and face painting.The toilets and changing facilities were sparkling clean. I will definetely be taking my kids back here, its a great place to be!

I think I must have been in a different place. I found it dark, dingy, and dirty. surpervision is abysmal.The toddler area is very dark and hard to access. I found Wacky's Ltd by accident on the way home. What a difference. Bright, colourful and lots of supervision. Lovely open accessed toddler area. Lovely baby changing area. Fabulous staff. It's new you need to check it out.

i took my grandaughter to world of play on fri 25th april 2008, my partner was with me, and im a very disabled woman, the world of play is fantastic, my little un, is only just 1yr old, she loved every minute of it, fantastic soft play area, quite a few buggy cars, little trykes ect,i for 1, will certainly b going back there, and on the recomendation of me, my daughter will b taking her too, very good, and lovely atmosphere, thank you, from 1 grateful grandma,
