We have actually taken out a season ticket to Bowood this year it is so good as they had a special discounted rate.
It is a fantastic place to go for all ages, there are long walks around the grounds, bowood house to visit, cafe, soft play, party rooms and a great play ground area with pirate ships, trampolines, death slides, overhead walk ways etc. Our 6 year old just loves it and could spend hours here. Plenty of seating whilst your child runs off his/her energy.
Highly recommended.

An excellent place to visit, you could spend all day here exploring the grounds, having a picnic, or letting off steam with the children in the excellent adventure play area. Highly recommended. If you live locally it is well worth buying a season ticket for return visits.

This info taken from their website gives a good description of what they have to suit different aged children, saves me retyping!!!
Located in the Pleasure Grounds, close to the visitors' entrance and some distance from the House, is an amazing - and very popular - Adventure Playground for children under 12.
Most of the items, including a superb pirate ship, have been designed by former boat builder Alistair Guy, using timber from the Bowood estate. Among the more recent additions are the thrilling space dive and curving tubular metal slides or 'flumes', entered from a wooden tower.
There is a separate play area with smaller equipment for little children.
The new Soft Play Palace at Bowood provides a safe, dry and fun environment for younger visitors to enjoy. Included in the normal admission price, the 1,500 square foot area incorporates two levels of safe play with slides, ball pools, net bridges, squeeze rollers and much, much more.
There is also a separate seating where adults can relax while the children burn off their seemingly endless energy
Next to the Soft Play Palace, within the Gardener's Bothy, are the Bothy Bonanza Party Rooms. These two magically themed, childrens' party rooms called the "Pirate's Galleon" and the "Enchanted Garden", provide a marvellous stage for a party environment. There are various packages that aim to provide the complete party experience. For details, contact Bowood House and Gardens or discuss with a member of staff on visiting - 01249 812102
