I agree that Starbucks is a great place to take kids, but they don't have a lift. When it's very busy and if you've got a wee baby and pram, it can be difficult to get to a table.
They have folding highchairs available as well (they fit on top of the wooden chairs), which is very useful.

You can also get children's portions of milk and hot chocolate, good baby changing facilities

Lots of people take their children here, and everyone seems quite happy to have kids running around and playing with each other. Very friendly towards breastfeeding mums. There is a baby changing facility downstairs toilet.
There is an upstairs area which tends to be quieter, and a choice of big velvet sofas/armchairs or normal wooden seats with tables.
They will heat bottles of milk, or jars of baby food for you, and also have high chair adaptors available to convert their wooden chairs for a young child.
