I found this place to be far too busy, too many people in, there was a crush at all of the hands-on stuff. What I could see was good, but mostly I spent my time trying to keep the kids in sight.
I found it to be laid out chaotically with no clear path through the museum; this meant that the already crowded museum was further congested by people milling about getting from one place to another.
The staff were helpful. I'm sure this place is OK if you go when it's not busy... whenever that is.
Some of the parents veered towards the over-assertive and the management could have more tills open at busy times. We were queueing out of the door; if it had been raining it would have been miserable indeed.

Not great! It was not helped by the fact it was busy, but inbetween fighting the horde I was subjected to, rude parents, broken and often incomprehensive exhibits, hectoring staff, dirty toilets and a massive queue for the tills. Not worth the money!

The preschool room is fantastic, lots of glueing/painting and sticking activities at no extra cost unlike some places!

We attended the search for Santa event over Christmas at Eureka and it was fantastic, they lead the kids through a magical snow maze of penguins and snowmen in one of the theatres and then you meet Santa, at the back was a huge tv screen with snowmen and snow flakes on. It was very magical and my three year old loved it, unlike other Grottos there was no rush and they had time to talk to Santa properly, the staff were fantastic in the grotto and it only cost a pound inc a present which was a pink sparkly Eureka cup with a crazy straw which she loved lol

My 1 year old son and I are members of Eureka (£30 for the year) and it was money well spent. Each time he finds something new to play with and I can see us renewing our membership in years to come.
Staff are very friendly.

We took our four year old and he thought it was fab. Lots of excellent things to keep little ones entertained, lots of things to fiddle with. Cafe was good & reasonably priced too with good healthy stuff to eat.

Fantastic place, they have recently opened a sound garden - a brand new gallery specifically for under 5s, it is just amazing.
Cost is £6.50 for adults and over 3's. Under 3s is currently free but i think i heard a rumour they would be introducing a charge soon (nooooo!)
They are also opening a desert discovery area for babies and little ones.
see their website for more info at
