Not a bad day out. Quite small and not a place you can go to twice as I think the kids would get bored.
All the enclosure, although on the small side, were very smartly done and informative. The kids liked the ice creams (typical after you spend all that money!)

A really lovely zoo, it feels much more personal than a lot of other large zoos. It has lovely gardens around it with really well set out displays and attractions. Thomas really loved the penguins where you actually felt like you were by the sea with the smells and noises. The other thing he really loved was the interactive outdoor activity where you recorded how fast you could run and then compare yourself to other animals. I would allow at least 3 hours here to enjoy everything but you could make a whole day out. There are clean toilets and baby changing facilties and the restaurant has child friendly food and drinks. There is a bit of work going on for a new attraction but I understand that the new areas will be open in the Spring. Further details can be found on their website http://www.bristolzoo.org.uk/visiting
Highly recommended.

Lots to keep the whole family happy and amused. Our 5 year old loves the miniature world of bugs the most. The penguins and seals always go down well as well. Other than the obvious animal attractions they also have an excellent playground to suit all ages and really lovely gardens to walk around. There are lots of ice cream kiosks around the zoo to keep everyone happy and they have a basic restaurant/café.
