Just to note that the toilet facilities at the Devil's Bridge station are pretty poor. They consist of a portacabin. The men's toilets were pretty grubby and my son was not impressed, even less so when the toilet seat fell off! Might be best to go to the cafe across the road.

Great trip out for the young ones, our son (23 months) thought it was the bees knees going on the open air carriages, which he referred to as Annie and Clarabel. We had parked our car at both ends so that we only had to go one way as it is an hours trip there, hour wait there and hour back. He spent a lot of the journey standing on the seat looking out and going "choo choo". We paid £8.75 each one way and our son went free. Will be going on it again soon as it was lots of fun. If you decide to do a return trip and you don't fancy the waterfalls you could always get an ice cream in the cabin cafe which also has a large gift shop.

This is a great trip out for the family, whatever age to experience being on a narrow guage steam railway, the journey is about 12 miles trhough the picturesque Rheidol Valley - you end up at Devils Bridge, you can visit the waterfalls when you are there (Not suitable for very young ones or the old) and many walks in the area or just stop at the other end for an icecream. Further information is available at their website http://www.rheidolrailway.co.uk
