We haven't stayed there but we go for lunch at least a couple of times a year; the restaurant is much more child-friendly than most but our last visit was disappointing. The staff were disinterested, the food order was messed up and there was a general feeling that people were desparate to get to the end of their shift. A shame, as we have had wonderful times there before, particularly when the weather's been good.

We have a baby and a toddler and found it a really relaxing break here. The staff were great and very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. We put both the children into the children’s club for a few hours on one day and they were very happy. Make sure before you book that you really go through your room requirements as the rooms varying tremendously in size. They supply cots, changing mats etc and have a baby listening service so once their tucked away in bed you can go down and enjoy your dinner (dinner is fine but nothing overly special). The hotel itself is a charming converted manor house, they have outdoor pool and small grounds and also offer some spa treatments- facials etc (in your rooms).
