The Play Pit
Adwick-le-street, Doncaster
Type of place: Indoor play area/cafe

Reviews and details of facilities:

This without a doubt is THE best children's play area in Doncaster and the surrounding areas. It is clean, tidy, priced fairly (adults are free as it should be, I don't play in the area!) the food is very reasonably priced, I don't feel this is just profiteering to the cost of the experience itself. My daughter's 4th birthday is quickly approaching and she adores the place, her 3rd birthday party was there and I fully intend to have her 4th birthday there too. The staff are nothing other than friendly and courteous, they go the extra mile for any query I have or any help that I require. My wife breastfeeds and felt comfortable enough to breastfeed (subtley) in a more public area than she normally would and no-one raised an eyebrow, the nappy changing facilities are clean, but if I had a concern I would approach a member of staff knowing that they would sort anything out promptly and quickly. I thoroughly recommend this

We visit the playpit every week, the staff are very friendly always willing to have a little chat. The place itself is spotless with plenty to do. The food and drink is not overpriced and adults get in free which is nice. All in all a fun and cheap day out.

we all love the play pit pit however the smell can sometimes be revolting as it smell's of b.o . many people love the playpit and my sister has been to many partys there befor and has come home saying it was really good .the only had thing is the smell of sweaty people/feet and at party's the birthday person has to sit all on their own away from the friends.

we went to playpit this week.. we were the first ones in... when we got to the area were the big blue slide is... it absolutely stunk of fish... really bad smell..later that night he started throwing up along with diarrhea. I called the doctor and she said that he has probably picked a virus up from somewere, which i think it was the playpit as we didnt even go out after we had come back from there. i go in all the time with my son as he,s not walking yet and have come across some disgusting sights in there. Its not very clean at all. Its definatley put me off going now which is ashame as my son loved it.

As far as soft play centres go - Play Pit - is by far the best, i know as i have visited just about everyone of them around Yorkshire area, it is so clean, tidy, staff are so friendly and not stone-faced like many others. The play frame is HUGE and set out fantastic, the prices on entry are the cheapest i have ever been to. Food and drinks are the cheapest and by a long way the BEST we have ever eaten.
Toilets are amazing - i would have these in my own home, the are fantastic and with plenty of room.
Well done to the Play Pit owners and builders Playdays Design

This place is awesome. Very clean, friendly and well maintained. The equipment is massive with lots of things to do, theres even an upstairs sports section where kids can play football etc. The staff are great and willing to help you with highchairs (and chat) etc. The first time we visited we booked our daughters 6th party they loved it so much. The kids love it, especially the ball balloon vacuum! There is a really good choice of food, and its lovely and hot when it arrives. The coffee is in a normal sized mug (I especially appreciate this!) and is not overpriced.
I'm a breastfeeding mother and I havent had any problems when feeding my baby son, although I haven't checked whether there are any specific rooms etc for this, I just do it at the table!
We go every fortnight and sometimes after school as a treat.
We live in Upton, Pontefract and have visited various soft play centres but this tops them in my opinion - I can't recommend highly enough. It's easy to get to as well cos it's walking distance from Adwick train station (about 3-4 mins).
The only 'problem' we've come across is on a Saturday afternoon there is a wait for tables, but it's like everywhere on a Saturday isn't it so not really a problem...
