The staff were very helpful and the whole place was very child-friendly. The queues weren't as bad as I feared, we were in very quickly, and although it was busy people moved on quickly enough that you did get to see everything.
There was a quiz for children which kept our six year old focused and engaged, and we hope taught him a little about sea life! There were also activities such as ray feeding which were very popular and provided interest and information.
It is a massive place - the largest of the Sea Life centres and there was a lot to see (over 600 species), with informative panels so you felt you were learning a little about the fish as well as admiring them. The viewing areas are very well arranged so you get to see some of the bigger fish from above and below, which really makes you feel you are seeing them in their element.
There is a place at which you can get your photograph taken with a suitable background, although we didn't do this as it was quite expensive.
I did feel that more staff on hand would be helpful, and would stop people taking photographs with the flash, which is damaging to the fish, and that more toilets near the middle would be helpful as it's quite a long walk around!
The shop is, as you would imagine, enormous and we spent almost as much time here as in the aquarium!
Quite an expensive visit but a special experience.
