LinenKids was founded by Lithuanian mother Jurate Stanisauskiene in 2008. Her inspiration for the business was her older son, Lukas, who preferred to wear locally made, 100% linen clothes.

Like many small boys, he often gets sweaty, especially in the summer, and then gets cold - but linen clothes seemed to help with this problem. Jurate was disappointed by the poor quality of mass-produced linen clothing, and struck by the quality of the charming linen artwork of Lithuanian craftswomen.

Traditional flax growing and linen production techniques are a significant part of the Lithuanian heritage. All the items that are in the LinenKids boutique are hand made or have hand made details and are produced in small quantities, even the bath linens. Each item and each detail is crafted with care and having children in mind.

Also available on LinenKids.com are toys (both linen and wooden) made by folk artists who craft these toys as Lithuanian folk art heritage.

We use 100% linen which is an ideal natural fabric for children and has many health side benefits.
